Business Development Manager

This job is like that of the conquerors and explorers of the Medival times. As a Business Development associate, you’ll be the brand custodian of The Social People. You’ll be responsible for all the ground zero activities like market research, internal marketing campaigns, presales activities, new client/project acquisition & relationship mining activities.

Key Deliverable:

Working alongside our delivery & management team, your role will be to manage all the ground zero activities like industry/market research, internal branding & marketing campaigns, presales activities, new client/project acquisition, key account mining and share monthly MIS reports & analytics on weekly & monthly basis to the management.

You will assist the Executive Management team with necessary industry insights, branding.marketing strategy and operational decisions, whilst offering support to the Service Delivery teams on new client handover. You will be expected to generate internal marketing ideas, manage campaigns, generate leads, manage all presales activites & acquire new business for the company.

This opportunity will allow you to apply your range of business management & digital marketing knowledge in a challenging and varied environment, working with exciting client assignments in competitive markets across a range of industries. The successful candidate must have extensive market research, marketing, presales & business acquisition knowledge & experience. You will need a clear understanding of the digital marketing industry and be able to demonstrate the results you have achieved to date.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Perform industry wise market research.
  2. Plan & execute internal branding & marketing campaigns across various channels.
  3. Contribute to various marketing & presales collateral designing.
  4. Generate Leads & initiate correspondence with them.
  5. Perform necessary presales activity of leads to enable stronger conversion into a prospect business.
  6. Share industry knowledge across the team and relay best practice to clients.
  7. Act as an authority in pre-sales consultancy work with prospect client/business meetings and pitches.
  8. Liaise with all stakeholders throughout active campaigns of a new client/business.
  9. Mine an existing key account to get more business opportunity
  10. Represent the company & its philosophy in various events & forums via active networking.
  11. Produce detailed performance reports (including brand reach, buzz, inbound traffic, leads, prospect pipeline, revenues, revenue forecasts).

Candidate Profile:

  • Extensive experience in the overall presales, marketing & sales lifecycle
  • An aggressive ‘business head’ able to brainstorm and generate ideas for opening new revenue streams for business.
  • Extensively skilled in a consultative approach over brick & mortar sales tactic.
  • Fair functional knowledge of the overall Digital Media Industry, Web technologies tools & overall Ecosystem.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Powerpoint and Excel.
  • Excellent spoken & written skills (including faultless spelling and grammar)
  • Preferably an insightful thought leader/blogger who can use social media to engage and promote.
  • Excellent team-working & interpersonal skills.
  • Self motivated with a flexible attitude to working practices.

Job Location:

This job is primarily based out of Chennai & may require travel to client locations (domestic or overseas) as per the project demands.

Reporting to:

This job will be reporting to the Chief Executive Officer.
